Our client is a leading international energy company with a strong presence in the European market. As part of the continued development of its Spanish operations, the company is looking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for Spain. Key Responsibilities • Lead the Finance function in Spain, ensuring strong financial governance while acting as a strategic partner to the local business and international management. • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and performance analysis. • Ensure accurate financial and statutory reporting in accordance with IFRS, Group policies and local regulatory requirements. • Manage treasury, liquidity and cash-flow planning, ensuring adequate funding for the company's operations. • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, including financing facilities, guarantees and other financial instruments required by the business. • Work closely with the energy trading and commercial teams, understanding the financial implications of gas and power trading activities. • Participate in the management and monitoring of credit, liquidity and financial risks, working closely with the relevant Group functions. • Ensure appropriate financial controls and risk-management frameworks are in place to support the company's trading and commercial activities. • Provide financial insight and analysis to support commercial decisions, business development and strategic initiatives. • Manage relationships and reporting requirements with the international headquarters and senior Group stakeholders. • Lead, develop and support the local Finance team, maintaining a hands-on approach and remaining close to day-to-day business activities. • Participate actively in the local Management Committee and contribute to the company's strategic and operational decision-making. Candidate Profile • Significant experience in senior finance leadership positions, ideally as CFO, Finance Director or equivalent. • Strong experience within the energy sector. • Solid knowledge of treasury, liquidity management, banking relationships and credit/financial risk. • Strong understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, consolidation and internal controls. • Experience working within an international organisation and reporting to regional or global headquarters. • Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on and businessoriented approach. • Big 4 experience is a must. interaction across Finance, Trading, Commercial and Risk functions. • Strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities. • Fluent English and Spanish are required.
